The Early Childhood Workforce Initiative is currently identifying country case studies and literature to inform two studies on Continuous Quality Improvement and Working Conditions. By synthesizing literature on the policies, practices, challenges, and needs related to the early childhood workforce, these studies aim to strengthen the knowledge base on the existing status of the workforce, identify common challenges and experiences, and areas for improvement.What will these studies focus on?A diverse range of roles within the early childhood workforce, including professionals and paraprofessionals, paid and unpaid workers, and frontline workers and managersThe education and care, health and nutrition, sanitation and hygiene, and social and child protection sectorsHigh-, middle-, and low-income countries across all regions.In order to diversify the existing pool of resources, the Initiative is calling for global, regional, and country-level evidence on the early childhood workforce, with specific emphasis on the themes of Continuous Quality Improvement and Working Conditions. What are we looking for?In particular, we are looking for two types of information:1. Academic/peer-reviewed literature, grey literature, and policy documents addressing workforce policies, challenges, and experiences related to either of these themes. 2. Suggestions of countries to profile as case studies in the landscape analyses who are using innovative approaches to address challenges related to either of these themes.How do you respond to the call?The deadline has been extended until April 15, 2020.
