September 27th webinar will focus on strengthing the social service workforce to improve child protrection.
Earlier this year, Making the Connection, produced by UNFPA and UNICEF, drew attention to the importance of promoting early childhood development interventions that "aim to involve both mothers and fathers in creating nurturing, violence-free households, and support reporting incidents [of violence]."
Why focus on early childhood?
The report, focused on the relationship between intimate partner violence and violence against children and made reference to the cycle of violence in which children who witness or experience abuse are more likely to perpetuate or experience violence as adults.
What does the Early Childhood Workforce have to do with it?
Providing support for and strengthening the social service workforce is an important component in charge to end violence against children. The social service workforce is at the forefront of this charge, providing response services and linking the social, health and justice sectors.
