Across the globe there are great disparities among countries, and within systems across sectors, on how competences and standards are defined, the role they play in professionalizing the workforce and how they contribute to strengthening the early childhood systems in countries. A recent webinar brought together early childhood experts from different sectors to discuss these issues.
The webinar addressed:
1. Rationale for defining competences and standards for the early childhood workforce
2. The pertinence and relevance of non-negotiable and cross-sectoral competences
3. Competences and standards, career development and mobility in the early childhood workforce
4. Competence sand standards and quality assurance in the early childhood services and systems
The webinar also highlighted a recent analysis on competences and standards, which has been added to a growing body of research produced by the Initiative. The recording is now available here.
