The Early Childhood Workforce Initiative was launched in 2016 by the International Step by Step Association (ISSA) and Results for Development Institute.
In the recent years, the Initiative welcomed the Early Childhood Regional Networks namely, the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC), the Arab Network for ECD (ANECD), and the Africa Early Childhood Network (AfECN) as core partners, alongside ISSA and Results for Development. This expanded partnership gives the Initiative a stronger legitimacy and voice on behalf of frontline workers, so that the early childhood workforce is recognized by governments, donors, and international organizations as a priority for the early childhood development agenda.
